I’ve also asked myself why “sometimes” we see cold freezing temps while most of the time the overall average temp is higher than “before” ( Where I was raised every winter I likeed and used to play in high snow. That was 40-50 years ago. Since many years now snow is for 2-3 days/ winter only and much warmer) This one could be the explanation:
