It is not the largest ship ever built – that honour goes to the Seawise Giant (later named Knock Nevis) which is no longer in service and is currently being broken up by ship-breakers at Alang on the Gujarat coast (Video here). But the largest ship in service today is the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller – a container ship of the Maersk line and named after the CEO of Maersk till 1993.
